Three Outstanding Young Person's (TOYP)

The Hawaii Junior Chamber annually selects and honors Three Outstanding Young Persons from Hawaii. Each honoree will be recognized in our community and is awarded a “Touching Hands” plaque symbolic of their work to challenge, motivate, and inspire Hawaii's youth. The most outstanding honoree's resume will then be judged for the Ten Outstanding Young Americans (TOYA) by the U.S.J.C.C.

Young men and women in all fields of endeavor may be nominated for TOYP honors. One or more nominations may be submitted by an individual, organization, association, institution, or Junior Chamber chapter. Winners will be selected by a group of independent judges. Each winner will be selected on the basis of achievement or contribution in any three (3) of the following areas:

Personal improvement or accomplishment
Financial success and economic innovation
Social improvement to major contemporary problems
Philanthropic contribution or voluntary service
Politics or government service
Scientific or technological contributions
Legal reform
Cultural achievement (to include contributions in literature, history, education, or the arts)
Academic leadership or accomplishment
Moral and religious leadership
Athletic accomplishment
Success in the influence of public opinion (news media and other means)
Any other important contributions to community, state, or nation, at the discretion of the judges.
